Retirement is Not the End of Financial Planning
Financial advisors and their clients often talk about retirement as a goal. Yes, being able to retire is certainly an important objective in financial planning, but it is not the end. When you consider retirement, you need to be able to think forward 10, 20, 30, even 40 years or more. With longer life spans, come longer retirements. Retirement is not the end of financial planning - it’s important to also talk about income streams and how you might possibly make your money last as long as you will. It’s important to chat about keeping what you have and making sure it is working for you. If you are pre-retired or retired, it’s important to keep speaking with a financial advisor. Retirement is just the beginning of the next chapter.
